My name is Sanford, and I am a conceptual illustrator for the entertainment industry. I have always had an interest in the spiritual arts and outsider arts. For many years I have been curiously investigating the origins of inspiration and creation of visual imagery and symbols. Since i was very young, i was able to perceive light forms in the dim light, and so now, what i do is use paper as my canvas, and a brush to describe what I see. Even to this day I do not know where these images come from, although i do have many theories and speculations. But obviously speaking, they all arise from the unconscious mind and the mind’s eye which perceives matter and form. What has come into creation is always evolving, and i am always surprised at the dialogue that occurs between scribing and observing. My intent, is to put forth these drawings into the world, so that it may initiate a spark of inspiration to those who see them.

Techniques with scribing fire writing
1. By staring at the page long enough or at times flickering the eye lids at different intervals, light forms appear as strokes. Immediately I scribe each line as it appears.
2.Intuit a direction for the stroke, make the first mark, then the next stroke will come in succession, let the hand move freely without thinking or ego.
3. Close your eyes, and see within the darkness the light form, open the eyes and look down at the page. the after image should appear on the page. trace the image, periodically close the eyes to realign the image and see the simple forms.
